Creating impact through better thinking.
OPen

Hi, I’m Dan. I'm a thinking partner for charities and mission-led organisations.

I help teams tackle complex challenges when things feel stuck, unclear, or at a crossroads — creating the space and structure for better thinking, fresh perspective, and new possibilities.

When I'm most useful

  • You’re being asked to do more with less
  • Your ambitions are bigger than the resources available
  • Impact or income feels harder to sustain
  • The team is delivering, but stuck on what comes next
  • The path forward isn’t clear
  • You need fresh thinking and outside perspective
  • You want to explore new possibilities
  • You need space to think but haven't got the time

Why me?

  • Built and sold businesses — experienced in real-world uncertainty and trade-offs
  • Led products and services from idea to launch, growth, and acquisition
  • Worked with charities, healthcare, housing, and social care organisations
  • Helped teams design new services, value propositions, and paths to impact
  • Comfortable working where clarity doesn’t yet exist
  • Bring an entrepreneurial mindset – without unnecessary risk
  • Work collaboratively, not with pre-packaged answers or frameworks
  • Trained to work well with uncertainty, competing perspectives, and high-stakes conversations

Charities today are under pressure to do more with less, adapt to constant change, and make decisions in conditions that feel increasingly complex and uncertain.

Many know they need to evolve — but are trying to do so using ways of thinking that no longer quite fit the world they’re in. I help teams step out of day-to-day delivery mode and create the space for better thinking — so they can see what’s really going on, explore new possibilities, and decide what to do next with confidence. Through facilitated, creative problem-solving sessions, I help organisations pause without stalling. To look ahead without losing focus on today. And to turn uncertainty into something practical and workable.

Sometimes that means uncovering new possibilities for growth or impact. Sometimes it’s challenging assumptions that have quietly shaped decisions for years. Sometimes it’s unblocking a specific issue that’s been slowing everything else down. And sometimes it’s simply clearing enough fog to take the next meaningful step forward.

My approach is collaborative, creative, and grounded in real-world experience. I don’t arrive with answers. I bring structure, curiosity, and an outside perspective — helping teams think differently within real constraints, and move forward with purpose.

I believe you know your organisation best. My role isn’t to prescribe solutions — it’s to help you and your team explore, discover, and decide what makes sense for you.

The work often includes

  • Clarifying direction when the path forward isn’t obvious
  • Exploring new models, services, or ways of creating impact
  • Supporting teams through moments of change or uncertainty
  • Creating alignment when priorities feel fragmented
  • Generating fresh thinking when progress has stalled
  • Turning big, messy questions into structured exploration

It’s all about moving from stuck → possibility → forward movement.

How I work
I design and facilitate focused, collaborative sessions that help teams understand where they are, explore possibilities, and shape a practical way forward. Most start with a single, structured session (that could be a one-hour intervention or a full-day workshop). From there, support can continue if useful — but the goal is always the same: create clarity, unlock new thinking, and build momentum quickly.

Alongside this work, I’m also training as a counsellor — which shapes how I listen, how I hold space for uncertainty, and how I facilitate conversations when the answers aren’t obvious and the stakes feel high.

If you’re facing a big decision, a moment of change, or a challenge that doesn’t have an easy answer, let's talk.
